Sri Varalakshmi Charitable Trust(R) UPPUNDA
An organization that was started in the costal region of Karnataka, with a vision of being hope for the poor and needy, has expanded its reach currently, into metropolitan cities like Bangalore and Mumbai.
Since its inception the organization has been conducting numerous social -welfare programs. Organization has been donating regularly since its genesis to the elderly orphanage shelters. The underprivileged rural students have been presented scholarships to continue their education. This has helped several underprivileged students achieve their dreams.
The trust has also helped several poor fishermen in building their houses and eased their livelihood during the tidal waves and flood. The Corona pandemic had disrupted, peoples lives around the world. The Organization has helped and distributed food packages to the poor and needy in and nearby villages of Byndoor during the pandemic. The trust has constantly worked to alleviate the hunger of the poor through food distribution in rural areas. The Organization has also taken steps to up-liftment of the un privileged people in metropolitan cites such as Bangalore and Mumbai.

VARALAKSHMI KUTEERA
SOORU – House constructing project: Home is a very basic essential for every human. We have successfully constructed 13 homes in two years for the poor fisherman community in tribal and rural areas. 6 ongoing projects and received 130 new applications. The Sri Varalakshmi charitable trust motive is to reach the needy with the basic shelter.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
In Byndoor village, with a population of around 2.80 lakhs, approximately 2,000 skilled women tailors play a significant role in the local economy through small-scale industries. Recognizing their contribution, Govinda Babu Poojari, Managing Trustee of Sri Varalakshmi Charitable Trust(R) Uppunda, donated tailoring machines to these women on Tailors' Day. This initiative aims to empower them to become entrepreneurs, promoting self-reliance and economic independence.
EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT
121 million children lack access to education. Government schools, serving the majority, face declining services and are accessed by the marginalized. Committed individuals work to improve these schools for systemic change. Sri Varalakshmi Charitable Trust, led by Govinda Babu Poojari, helps by providing amenities, donating books and bags, and adopting students to cover educational expenses.
MEDICAL SUPPORT
In India, many people are dying due to inadequate healthcare facilities. Sri Varalakshmi Charitable Trust, led by managing trustee Govinda Babu Poojari, provides financial and other support for medical treatment. Their efforts highlight the importance of medical care and have significantly impacted society, demonstrating the need for healthcare assistance. Their service has produced remarkable results.
COVID FOOD KIT DISTRIBUTION
COVID-19 affected millions globally, including in India. Poor laborers struggled for food and rations during the lockdown. Sri Varalakshmi Charitable Trust, led by Dr. Govinda Babu Poojari, stood by the people, distributing 14,000 food kits in Byndoor Taluk during the first lockdown and 9,000 more during the second. These efforts helped rural people avoid hunger and live peacefully during these difficult times.
